About The Krew

Nil

O'Boyle, CPDT-KA

Owner/Training Director
Nil has been training dogs for over 20 years and is certified by both the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and by Animal Behavior College. She has been and continues to be a student of canine behavior and, a researcher by trade, Nil always stays abreast of the latest in behavior research so that she brings her clients the best and most effective training techniques. Nil is adamant in her belief that training dogs without force, rather with kindness and patience, earns a dog’s trust and cooperation and enhances your relationship with your dog.

“I will always advocate for dogs to be understood as individuals, to be treated respectfully, and to be taught without the fear of force or pain.”

Cassidy

Scalzo, CPDT-KA

Trainer

Cassidy is no stranger to K9K!  She used to work at our day camp when we first opened.  In addition to being a staff trainer here at K9K, Cassidy works as a trainer at Animal Farm Foundation, an organization that brings dogs and people together to end breed-specific legislation.  Breed-specific legislation (BSL) is a law or ordinance that regulates or completely bans the keeping of dogs of specific breeds (often pitbulls or dogs that look like that).  AND, Cassidy (like her mom Sue, YES they're related!) also worked at Two-by-Two Zoo so she comes to us with cross species experience!

Cassidy is certified by Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and draws on all her experience when teaching classes at The K9Konnection and her students love her!

Lindsay Consiglio-Jackson, CPDT-KA

Trainer

Lindsay first started out at The K9Konnection years ago as a student with her dog Isak, and over time they have taken nearly every class K9K offers! Committed to giving Isak the life he deserves while working on his reactivity issues, she researched all she could about canine behavior, and what initially started out as a hobby eventually blossomed into a career.

Lindsay is a recent graduate of CATCH Canine Trainers Academy and a CTA Certified Dog Trainer (CCDT) and recently earned her CPDT-KA certification!  She's looking forward to helping you strengthen the active partnership you have with your dog!

Rebecca Gordineer

Trainer

Rebecca has always had a passion for working with and helping animals big and small. She has been working at Full Circle Veterinary Hospital for five years as a veterinary assistant and recently earned her Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. In February 2020, she adopted her dog, Bean, who was soon after enrolled in K9K classes with Nil, sparking Rebecca’s interest in canine training. Through research, training courses, consistency, and patience, Rebecca has been able to work through and manage Bean’s reactivity. Rebecca’s main goals are to create a healthy balance of hard work and enjoyment through training. Rebecca is excited to share the knowledge, tools, and tricks she has learned to help every dog and their owner establish a rewarding, safe, and fun relationship with each other.

Bean is a four year old American Staffordshire terrier mix. A southern gentleman, he was born in the great state of Alabama. However, he moved to New York in pursuit of a better life when he was around a year old. Bean loves long walks at the park, sunbathing, eves dropping on any conversation within ear shot and chasing squirrels. When he’s not taking his 6th nap of the day, you can find him having meaningful conversations with whoever will listen. He’s a real lady’s man but takes some time to warm up. Once he’s lukewarm there’s no stopping him and his personality.

Ruby

RIP Sweet Baby Girl

I lost Ruby in August 2022 to a brain tumor.  To say I was devastated is an understatement.  Ruby was my everything.  My best friend, partner in crime, co worker and so much more.  Ruby was sweet, sensitive, playful and patient and has been an instrumental puppy raiser. She raised Max after all!  At the age of 8, she got word that she’d need to raise yet another puppy - Gracie!  Well she did a great job with her too.  Ruby has helped so many dogs in her nearly 12 years on this earth, I can't even count.  Her expertise was working with reactive dogs and teaching puppies.  I miss her every minute of every day.  RIP my sweet baby until we meet again.

Max

Beautiful Work in Progress

At nearly 9 years old, Max has finally shed his nickname, Punk! Although now that Gracie has joined the family, he brings out his inner punk to entertain her! Max has come a VERY long way. Max came to me with fear issues, separation anxiety, serious over arousal and redirected aggression issues. Max had zero impulse control and unlike other dogs who just ran around and got nutty, Max’s lack of impulse control resulted in serious over-arousal which led to aggressive events. Max can now greet people, play with toys, play with Gracie without incident. He’ll always be our sweet, goofy punk!

Gracie

Teacher Dog

I always said that I would never get another puppy and in July 2019 I got a call about a Vizsla pup from NYC that needed a home. I said I’d see if she got along with Ruby and Max and if not I’d foster her until we found her a good home.  It was an epic foster fail!  Gracie is 5 years old and lover of bird/squirrel/chipmunk/butterfly chasing and all around sweet, goofy girl! She is Max’s wrestle buddy and works with me at K9K as teacher dog.
